HOW IT STARTED
A Winter Night, A Simple Question
In the winter of 2017, we learned that People Loving Nashville (an organization serving our unhoused neighbors) needed blankets. Not just any blankets. Good ones. Warm ones. Ones that would last.
Chris and Marissa Barrett, both Franklin natives, knew what a good blanket could mean. They'd seen how something as simple as warmth could change a hard night into a bearable one. And they believed Nashville could do something about it.

The idea was simple: What if we could sell beautiful, durable blankets and use every purchase to fund one for someone who needed it? In June 2018, Nashville Blanket Project was born- launched from a 1981 Chevy El Camino at the 12 South Farmers Market. Today, all our blankets are designed right here and woven in North Carolina, because we're proud to keep production in the South.

A blanket is a small thing. But it's also not. It's warmth when you have none. Comfort when everything feels uncertain. A reminder that someone thought of you.
Our mission is simple: Buy a blanket, give a blanket. Every purchase covers the cost of a donated blanket for a neighbor experiencing homelessness, recovering from disaster, or just needing an extra hand. We partner with local nonprofits who know their communities best. Because they're our neighbors too.
